Geez...must have taken a long time to get all of these vids--my favorite is Staraflur from their recent tour movie. Do you know that song was used in the Billy Murray movie, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou?

Chloe...One of their albums sold over a 1,000,000 CD's so I guess they've caught the eye of some. Radiohead said that while recording their Kid A album it was the ONLY music they listened to...They're songs have been featured in movies like Vanilla Sky and can be heard in the background of a few US commercials.
For me, I don't care how popular they are...I just think they make interesting and different music. It's indie but also orchestral...Really reflective of the country they hail from--Iceland.
Just don't expect any singing in English--Leader singer Jonsi sings in either Icelandic or the Sigur Ros made-up language of Hopelandic. Jonsi often see his voice as just another instrument--his falsetto hovering above drums, keyboards, violins, horns and whatever else Sigur Ros can use to create sound.

Unbelievable Spark! I especially liked the video clips from the recent tour movie (Heima). My favorite it the Agaetis Byrjun song--just amazing how they cna sit down in that little gym and roll out one of the most beautiful songs ever.
